Karina grew up visiting her grandparents up in the hills of Santa Barbara. As a kid there was this magical swing that her and her sisters cherished under the old oak tree in grandma and grandpa’s back yard. I could tell those moments were priceless to her as she talked about her childhood. The estate was sold and Kathy Ireland, former super model, became the new owner of the property. As Karina and Jason began searching for places to get married it was the memories of grandma and grandpa’s house that drew them to Santa Barbara. Little did we know at the time that their grandparent’s old home had been turned into one of Santa Barbara’s leading event spaces.
The backyard is completely stunning with overgrown trees, and lots of spaces to create a gorgeous wedding reception. We had so much fun curating their wedding with lots of neutral colors and darker pops. Their wedding ceremony was held at the most beautiful catholic church down the street that felt as if we were in Europe. It makes me want to hop on a plane right now for a romantic vacation with Billy. Ahh, everything about this day was perfect and I won’t soon forget this magical day in the hills of Santa Barbara.
You guessed it. This is the same swing under the old oak tree in the back yard. I can’t get enough of their precious story and was so honored and excited to be apart of curating such a special day.
